1) To gain a better understanding of the algorithm, please refer to the following images:

2) The prototype of the system was initially implemented on matlab 7.0 and later revised in matlab 7.10.0.
3) It is important to note that the input images should have a purely 'black' background and the content (palms, fingers) should be clear in order to ensure accurate recognition of the American Sign Language (ASL).
4) For this project, a reduced ASL dataset was used, which includes the following ASL gestures: "b, c, h, i, o, l, y".
