The active appearance model (AAM) and active shape model (ASM) are both widely used methods in computer vision and image processing for modeling the shape and texture of objects. These models are typically implemented using Matlab, a popular platform for numerical computing and scientific programming. In addition to their technical applications, AAM and ASM have also been used in a variety of other fields, such as facial recognition and medical imaging. To help users better understand these models, a demo has been included in the package, which provides a step-by-step guide for using AAM and ASM in Matlab.
